Background:
Human are evolved from the race of barbarians and they are a more refined
and advanced race than their than their northern forebears. Eschewing
their primitive architecture for more advanced ornamentation and created
materials. The strength of humans are three-fold: adaptability, ingenuity
and diversity. No other race has the ability to adapt to change as the
humans. Few races match their ability to think creatively, and no race
has as wide a range of beliefs and no other race have the capability to
master every profession. They are the Jack of all Trades, but their three-fold
strength have given them the capability of mastering any path they choose
to follow.
The height of human power came at the end of the Age of Blood, when the
mighty Combine Empire ruled over most of Norrath. Eventually the empire
splintered, leaving relics dotting the landscape of Norrath while its
leaders fled to the Moon of Luclin. A more intellectual subset of humans,
the Erudites, long ago separated themselves from their less cerebral kin.
Erudites have since experienced an evolution of their own.
Faith
Humans run the entire gamut of religions in Norrath, although many clerics
and templars choose to worship one or the other of the Marr twins. Humans
now even pursue shamanistic forms of worship, a path they had previously
shunned as too primitive, perhaps as a direct consequence of the Shattering
which destroyed many cities and deprived many of more civilized society.
