Halfling: Conveyers of Merriment and Mischief
Taller than the gnomes but shorter than the dwaves, halflings are a pudgy
people with rounded features and portly stature. Their most prominant
feature are their large hairy feet which are displayed for all to see
as they eschew footwear. Their barefoot child-like appearance and merry
nature often fool some into thinking that they are easy targets, but they
are far from that. They are quite strong and nimble, intelligent and quite
capable of matching the dwarves stein for stein of ale. Their exceptional
agility make them superb Scouts, and their wisdom lead many down the path
of the priest. Halflings are also known for their loyalty second only
to the Dwarves.

Background:
Halflings are the creation of Bristlebane, King of Thieves. As their
name implies, they are about half the height of humans, and often mistaken
for human children by the less observant. Friendly and good-natured, halflings
are amiable to just about anyone who doesn't show them open hostility.
Halflings love their food and ale and are self sufficient in growing their
own food and in the culinary arts. Nothing pleases them more than sitting
by a fire in the cool evenings with family and friends, recounting stories
of past adventures. As creations of Bristlebane, halflings tend to fall
into all manner of mischief although none of their adventures actually
start out as mischief! Due to that nature, halflings are durable survivors,
falling into and finding their way out of trouble. They are formidable
in battle when forced into that situation.
Originally from Rivervale, halflings now live in their beloved Baubbleshire
Thicket. They build houses into grass-covered mounds of earth, with rounded
doorways and low ceilings.
Faith
Religious halflings who walk the path of the healer and crusader remain
devoted to their maker, the crafty Bristlebane. Those who follow the calling
of the druidic lifestyle worship Karana, the rain god who gives life to
their plants.
