This is a guide to becoming a merchant in Freeport with screenshots to the appropriate areas.
As you adventure or craft, you'll find yourself with many things you'll want to sell to your fellow players. It takes only a few minutes to set yourself up as a merchant, making your goods available to any player on the server.
NOTE : To sell your items, you must be logged into the game, and in your home. Offline vending is not available in Everquest 2.
First you'll need a market bulletin board. Head to East Freeport to purchase one.
East Freeport Waypoints
Here is the dock area of East Freeport. You can come to East Freeport for many things - We're going to head to the Bazaar to find the merchant selling bulletin boards.
A waypoint path
Choosing the Freeport Bazaar from the Waypoint menu (Alt W) will pop up a wispish trail to lead you to your destination.
Merchant area
The Emporium - Freeport Fine Furnishings. (Marked by the chair on the map, our current location is the red dot.) Here we'll find the furniture merchant.
The Merchant
In Freeport, Merchant Vhishall, the Iksar in the back room, will sell you a market bulletin board to share your wares.
Hang your new bulletin board
Head back to your home - the simple inn room is both inexpensive, and easily accessed (everyone who has completed their citizenship quest will be able to easily find you). Hang your bulletin board on the wall.

Setup your shop
Right click, choose access your store, and you are ready to set your prices and sell your wares.
Find prices
Since you have a bulletin board in your home you can also browse the market to check what other people are charging by clicking the browse market button.
Set your prices
Your entire inventory (all items in your bags, and all empty bags) will be listed in your store. Select an item, and chose set price. Enter the price you've chosen on the calculator that pops up.
Click OK and you can see your price set on your merchant window.
Open up shop
Now select List Item for Sale if you need to. By default if you set a price the item is set for sale. If you clear the price on the calculator the item is set not for sale. Do this for all items you wish to sell; click Start Selling, and you are now a merchant!
Players can choose to find you in your home and buy from you in person, to pay only the price you have set. If they would rather have ease of buying over low prices, they may also utilize the brokers and black market fences in either city to buy your wares at a higher price, but without having to seek you out. As long as you stay in game, and in your house, you may keep your store open and other players may shop from your store. If you wish to share your home with friends and set up a little neighborhood shop you can do so by clicking on your door, and granting them Friend or Trustee access to your home in the window that pops up. Be careful with Trustee access - any trustee can enter your home and take your belongings at will! Friend access will give them rights to enter your home and sell from it, but keeps your belongings safe.
